General terms and conditions

1. Payment

• Payment is made in advance via Tikkie.
• An invoice is available on request.
• A lesson or place is only confirmed after confirmation and payment.

2. Cancellation and rescheduling

• Rescheduling or cancelling is free until 21:00 on the evening before the lesson. A new time depends on availability; arrange it with your tutor.
• On the day of the lesson before 12:00: 50% of the lesson fee.
• On the day of the lesson after 12:00, or not showing up (no-show): 100% of the lesson fee.
• With a package, the full lesson hour is deducted from your balance when a fee applies. At 50% you get half the value of that hour (package price divided by the number of hours) back as credit. This credit can only be used for future lessons and is not paid out.
• If the tutor cannot give a lesson, your lesson hours are kept and we arrange a replacement tutor or a new appointment.
• If Stephen's Privélessen ends the arrangement, or we cannot provide a tutor, unused lesson hours are refunded.
• After the withdrawal period (see 3), a package is not partially refunded, except in the situation above. Make-up lessons are only possible on Sundays between 14:00 and 18:00, online.

3. Right of withdrawal (consumers only)

If you are a private individual, you may withdraw within 14 days without giving a reason (Dutch Civil Code 6:230o). The period starts on the day the agreement is concluded. To withdraw, email a clear statement to [email protected]; you may use the model form below. You will receive confirmation of receipt.

If you want the lessons to start within the 14 days, we ask you to confirm this explicitly when signing the tutoring agreement. If you then withdraw, you pay an amount proportionate to the lesson hours already given up to the moment of withdrawal (Dutch Civil Code 6:230s). You get the rest of the amount paid back within 14 days of your withdrawal, by the same means as your payment.

After the withdrawal period, the cancellation policy in 2 applies.

4. Scope and availability

• Lessons are given by Stephen Adei or by a student tutor engaged by Stephen's Privélessen. Stephen's Privélessen chooses the tutor and remains your contracting party.
• A maximum of 2 hours of lessons per week.
• Lessons with Stephen: Monday to Thursday, 18:00–21:00.
• Lessons with a student tutor: also possible during the day, depending on their availability.
• Sunday: 14:00 – 18:00 (online only, make-up lessons).

5. Rates

Rates depend on level, group size and location. Current rates are published at stephensprivelessen.nl; after the trial lesson you receive a quote.

6. Privacy

Stephen's Privélessen only processes the data needed for the tutoring. How we process your data, including when you contact us on WhatsApp, is set out in the privacy statement.

7. Complaints

If you are unhappy about something, email [email protected] within 14 days of noticing the problem. You will receive a substantive response within 14 days. If we cannot resolve it together, you can submit it to the competent court.

8. Applicable law

Dutch law applies to these terms and to all agreements with Stephen's Privélessen.
